Jason Flatt Act - Suicide Prevention

The Jason Flatt Act requires the board of education of each school district to provide suicide awareness and prevention programming to all school staff. USD 263 provides facilitated training that includes steps for recognizing suicide ideation, appropriate methods of interventions, and a crisis recovery plan. USD 263 Suicide Prevention Staff training materials are available for review. Please contact your student's counselor to request a copy.

Our school counselors and mental health professionals are available in each building when support for a mental health need arises.

In addition to school counselors and social workers, our district provides school-based therapy services through the Wildcat Care Team. Our team partners with COMCARE to provide therapy and case management services for students at both Mulvane High School and Mulvane Middle School.
