MHS Principal, Jeromy Swearingen
Introducing... Mr. Jeromy Swearingen, Head Principal
I have been in education for over 25 years and will be entering my first year as head
principal at Mulvane High School. I grew up just east of Mulvane in Rose Hill, and graduated from
Rose Hill High School in 1994. I attended Newman University on
a soccer scholarship and in 1998 I graduated with a Bachelor's
degree in Secondary Education and History. I began teaching and
coaching at Campus High School that same year, and continued
until 2006. During that time I acquired my Master's degree from
Baker University in Building Leadership. In 2007, I began my
administrative career at Haysville West Middle School. I worked
there as assistant principal and athletic director. In 2014, I moved to
Derby High School, and have been an assistant principal there until now.
I am married to my wife Shelly who is a
middle school counselor in USD 261 and have three girls, Emily,
Ella, and Evelyn. I enjoy spending as much time as I can with
them attending school events, coaching them in their various
youth sports, going to the lake, and participating in other family gatherings. In my free time I
enjoy running, weight lifting, hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities with friends and
family. Watching the K-state Wildcats, Kansas City Chiefs, and U.S. National soccer teams
play are also favorite pastimes of mine.
I enjoy being at Mulvane High School and with USD 263, and in my short time have found working with the staff and students to be the
best part of the job.
