In July 2017, the district welcomed Officer Bohannon as our new SRO for Mulvane Public Schools. We are extremely excited about this partnership between the Board of Education and the Mulvane Police Department.
This position has been instrumental in the process of promoting positive behavior in our school district of 1800 students.
The main goal of the SRO is to provide a highly visible presence that promotes positive relationships between students and law enforcement that, in turn, helps prevent juvenile delinquency.
As our SRO, Officer Bohannon has a variety of roles in our school community. His duties and responsibilities include serving as a positive role model, maintaining a close partnership with school administrators to provide for a safe and secure environment, and counseling both students and parents on various topics.
I encourage parents to go through their kids cell phones and be proactive in learning social media. If you need assistance, please reach out and I can assist you.
In Snapchat, there is a feature called "My Eyes Only". My Eyes Only is for Snaps that you want to keep extra private! To view My Eyes only, swipe up from the Camera screen to open Memories, then swipe left to the My Eyes Only tab and enter your passcode.
There is an app for smart phones called "Bark". Bark provides families with all the tools they need to raise kids in the digital age. Our comprehensive service lets you monitor content, manage screen time, and filter websites so you can get peace of mind while your child is online.
