Daily Announcements

• There will be an FCA meeting this Thursday, during advisement in the main gym. Come join us for Christians fellowship. All students are welcome.

• Coach Rhodes: There will be a Boys Wrestling meeting in the main gym this morning, during advisement. 

• Reminder that we will have our December Circle of Friends meeting this Thursday during lunch. See you there!

• Are you a decent speller? MMS needs you!!! The League Spelling Bee is coming up on January 13th. It is open to any 7th or 8th Grader in good standing. We will have a meeting during Advisement when we get back from winter break. Any interested 7th or 8th hour should email Mrs. Landwehr this week. 

• Creative Comics Club will meet in Mrs. Dunbar’s room after school today until 4. 

• 8th Grade Art Club will meet in Mrs. McGuire’s room after school today until 4. 

• Game Club will meet for the last time this school year in Mrs. Stahl’s room today after school until 4. 

• Our Winter Band Concert is tonight in the Main Gym. Band students will practice both 2nd and 3rd hour so the 7th and 8th graders can rehearse together. 

• Students be sure to check the lost and found! Any items left after Friday will be donated. 

• Check the Pins Tournament list at lunch today! They will be posted on the windows in the commons. If you’d still like to sign up, there will be a place to do that. If your name is not on the list after today, you will not be allowed to play.

• Just a reminder that if you have a military relative on the wall in front of the office from Veteran’s Day, you may come and take the card off the wall and keep them. Anything left by Friday will be thrown away. 

• Good luck to 7th and 8th grade boys trying out for basketball after school today and tomorrow. Please remember that you must have a physical on file and all forms completed through Final Forms to attend. If you have any questions, stop by the office. 

• If you are in A lunch, you need to sit with your 4th hour class when you come to lunch this week. The tables will be labeled with your 4th hour teache’s name. 

• Mrs. Downs NJHS will be having a Christmas Spirit week through out next week. Here are the days:

  • Monday - Christmas Vacation, dress wintery or tropical

  • Tuesday - Color Wars, 6th Grade wears white, 7th Grade wears green, and 8th Grade wears red.

  • Wednesday - Ugly Christmas Sweater 

  • Thursday - Comfy Clothes or pajamas 

  • Friday - Christmas Chaos, wear anything Christmas (bells, socks, hats, shirts, etc.)

• Mrs. Downs: NJHS will be hosting a “Cozy Christmas” for 7th and 8th graders on Thursday, December 18th from 6-8pm. There will be a hot cocoa, cookies and a Christmas movie to watch. Wear your comfy clothes, bring a pillow, blanket, and favorite stuffed animal if you want. Admission is $2. Hope to see everyone there!
