Things to know about the Free or Reduced Meal Program

• Applications can be submitted at any point in the school year.

• It is highly recommended, even if your application was previously denied, to re-apply if there are any changes in income or household size that would benefit a family in being approved.

• Once a family is approved, those benefits are for the duration of the school year and there is no need to re-apply or notify food service of further changes.

• With the approval of the application, all meals going forward will be free or reduced (depending on the determined status), but all previous meals will still require payment.  

• When a child in your household is approved for free or reduced meals directly through the state, the other students in your home should also receive benefits. We try to make sure that no student is left out, but it occasionally happens. If that occurs, please contact Food Service to let them know that a student has been overlooked.
