Kansas College and Career Ready Standards & Individual Plans of Study
Kansas has a vision for education that calls for a more student-focused system. These new standards for Kansas School Districts require increased support and resources for individual student success. To support this new vision, Kansas State Curriculum Standards for Mathematics and English Language Arts were adopted by the Kansas State Board of Education in the Fall of 2017. These standards are referred to as the Kansas College and Career Ready Standards (KCCRS). To support measuring progress on the new Kansas Can Vision, state assessments were also updated in 2018. State assessments are required to be administered in math and reading for every student in grades 3-8 and 10. Assessments are also required to be administered in social studies for every student in grades 6, 8, and 11 and science in grades 5, 8, and 10.
